Crockpot Pot Roast

Easy Crockpot Pot Roast

One of my favorite crockpot foods is the crockpot pot roast.  This is a very simple way to have a truly home-cooked meal when you come home from work, church, or just a day of sports activities for the kids.

I first prepare the meat by using heavy salt and pepper on both sides of the meat. I sometime put bits of garlic pieces in the meat here and there. Sear the meat 5 – 7 minutes on each side.

Place in the bottom of the crockpot:

  • Potatoes (quartered or halved, depending on size)
    can be peeled or not
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 – 3 carrots
  • celery

Place roast on top of the vegetables.

Mix together:

  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 pkg of onion soup mix
  • 1 can of milk
  • some beef boullion

Pour this mixture on top of the roast.  Turn on High 4-5 hours or Low 7-9 hours until vegetables are tender.
